- Accused father is held on $1 million bond and faces multiple charges.

Marcellaus Nekie Malone, 30, has been charged in connection with the death of his 4-month-old daughter in December 2025. Police responded to his apartment on December 11, 2025, after a report of an unresponsive infant. Despite lifesaving efforts, the baby was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
An investigation revealed a pattern of abuse by Malone, including threats that the baby would be a "dead baby" if she cried. He allegedly swaddled her so tightly that she couldn't breathe and punched her for crying.
The infant's autopsy cited a reported history of obstructed breathing as a contributory cause of death. Malone is currently in custody at Clermont County Jail on a $1 million bond and is scheduled for a court appearance on April 27.
