A naib tehsildar was discovered deceased in a water storage tank near his official government quarters in Balotra district on Tuesday morning. The body of Mangla Ram, 54, a naib tehsildar of Doodwa Sub-Tehsil, was found by an ANM resident. She immediately alerted authorities upon noticing the body when opening the tank's lid.
The Pachpadra SHO confirmed police were called to the scene, alongside forensic teams. While the death initially appears to be a suicide, the exact cause is pending the post-mortem examination. Investigators are working to understand how Mangla Ram entered or fell into the tank, with his slippers found nearby.
Mangla Ram, who lived alone in the quarters, was promoted to naib tehsildar approximately one year prior. His son stated he had not conveyed any personal or work-related stress. The family is awaiting formal procedures and the autopsy report to ascertain the cause of death.
