Cop Sacked for Harassment and Sleeping on Duty
9 Mar
Summary
- Officer dismissed for sexual harassment of colleague.
- Found to have slept while on duty during shift.
- Banned from working for any UK police force.

A police constable has been dismissed and banned from working for any UK police force after a four-day hearing concluded he committed gross misconduct. PC David Henzell faced multiple allegations, including sexually harassing a colleague and making inappropriate sexual remarks to other staff members.
An investigation by Staffordshire Police also uncovered that the officer had slept while on duty. The hearing determined that Henzell's actions constituted a severe breach of professional standards, including those related to authority and respect. He has now been placed on the College of Policing's barred list, preventing him from employment in law enforcement elsewhere.
Deputy Chief Constable Caroline Marsh commented that PC Henzell's behaviour was unacceptable and did not meet the standards expected of police officers, emphasizing the force's commitment to removing such individuals.
