A former officer is barred from policing after using an unmarked police pool car for personal trips. A misconduct hearing on January 29, 2026, ruled that PC Dale Curriston, 46, would have been dismissed had he not already resigned from Humberside Police.
Curriston, who worked in Hull, used a police vehicle 42 times over a six-month period in 2024. The panel found his conduct breached professional standards, amounting to gross misconduct.
He was found to have taken police cars home overnight and altered booking records to avoid notification. Head of professional standards Det Supt Rebecca Dickinson stated the officer did not consider the detrimental impact on the public.
