Odisha Girl's Anganwadi Ordeal Sparks Outrage

In Mayurbhanj, Odisha, a four-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly molested and raped by a local man. The incident unfolded near her village Anganwadi center, where the suspect, identified as Chamaka Paleya, lured the child away with a chocolate. He reportedly took her to his residence and committed the crime before the child managed to escape and report the assault to her mother.

Following the child's disclosure, village elders attempted mediation, but the victim's mother insisted on a police complaint. She reported the incident to the Bishoi police station, leading to Chamaka Paleya's immediate detention and interrogation.

Authorities confirmed that the accused is being questioned and will face the POCSO court after initial investigations and medical procedures are completed. Public anger remains high, with residents demanding stringent legal action.
