Multiple New York City Police Department officers were injured Sunday evening after being struck by a stolen vehicle during a pursuit in the Bronx. The incident unfolded around 6 p.m. on East Fordham Road as officers attempted to stop a silver Kia Sportage with New Jersey plates, which had been reported stolen the previous day.
As officers converged on the vehicle, it struck several of them. All injured officers were taken to local hospitals and are currently in stable condition. During the confrontation, one officer discharged his service weapon, hitting the 18-year-old driver in the arm. The suspect also received medical attention at St. Barnabas Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
