- The murder-suicide occurred during ongoing divorce proceedings.
- An illegal ghost gun was used in the fatal incident.

In Cohoes, New York, nurse Gabrielle Forman, 30, was identified as the victim of a murder-suicide that concluded on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Authorities confirmed her husband, Jadet Forman, 37, shot Gabrielle before taking his own life.
The couple had been married for two years and were reportedly in the process of divorcing at the time of the incident. Gabrielle's cousin recounted a distressing event where Jadet forcibly took a phone from Gabrielle during a FaceTime call with her mother, shortly before gunfire was heard.
Gabrielle was remembered by her father as a "beautiful soul" who was dedicated to her nursing career and training to become a practitioner. She had recently returned from a trip to Georgia, celebrating her mother's birthday and her sister's college departure.
Cohoes Police Chief Todd Waldin stated that Jadet used an illegal ghost gun, which lacks a serial number and can be assembled from mail-ordered parts, to commit the crime. Investigations are ongoing to determine how he obtained the weapon. Police noted that Jadet had no prior criminal history, and no prior domestic disturbance calls were reported at the residence.
