Summary
- Mother accused of fatally dosing son with excessive Benadryl.
- Charges include manslaughter and child endangerment.
- Investigation revealed alleged tampering with evidence.

Rebecca Jordan, a 41-year-old woman from New York, was arrested on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in connection with the death of her ten-year-old son, Eddie. The child died on January 19, 2026, from an overdose of diphenhydramine, the active ingredient in Benadryl.
The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office responded to an unattended death call at the D and R Village Community Mobile Home Park in Halfmoon. Investigators believe Jordan administered an excessive amount of the antihistamine to her son, allegedly to address behavioral issues, which led to his death.
Jordan has been charged with manslaughter in the second degree, tampering with physical evidence, and endangering the welfare of a child. Authorities stated that the dosage given to Eddie was enough to kill an adult. The investigation also revealed allegations that Jordan attempted to hide the medication to prevent its use in legal proceedings.
District Attorney Brett Eby described the case as a "tragedy" and noted the unusual nature of the dosage involved. Eddie was remembered as a "sweet young man" who enjoyed animals and cooking. Jordan is currently held in Saratoga County Jail awaiting trial.
