- The chairperson allegedly blamed nurses for negligence in an assault case.
- Staff demanded an apology and an end to unfair blame.

In Kurukshetra, nursing staff at the Lok Nayak Jai Parkash Civil Hospital staged a two-hour pen-down strike on Monday. This action protested alleged remarks made by the Haryana State Commission for Women chairperson, Renu Bhatia, during her recent visit.
Bhatia visited the hospital on Sunday in connection with the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl by a 62-year-old consultant doctor. The chairperson reportedly reprimanded hospital officials for negligence and accused some nursing staff of possible collusion.
Protesting nurses stated they were on duty and not called by the accused doctor on the day of the incident. They believe they are unfairly blamed without thorough investigation and demanded an apology, submitting a memorandum to Civil Surgeon Dr. Sukhbir Singh.
Senior Nursing Officer Gurmeet Kaur emphasized nurses' dedication and the frequent blame they receive. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sukhbir Singh assured the staff their concerns would be conveyed to Bhatia.
Meanwhile, the accused doctor's employment was terminated by the Haryana government, and an FIR was registered under the POCSO Act, 2012, following a complaint filed on May 31.
