Nursery Worker Jailed, Then Worked at Another
6 May
Summary
- Worker arrested, jailed for indecent images, fraud.
- He worked at a second nursery while on bail.
- Parents learned of crimes via news report, not police.

A nursery worker, Kristian Parry, 26, was sentenced to two years in prison in March after admitting to possessing over 5,000 indecent images of children and falsifying references for employment. He had been dismissed from a previous nursery job due to alcohol abuse.
Parry was initially arrested in May of the previous year. Astonishingly, while on bail and awaiting sentencing, he obtained a position at a second nursery located just eight miles from his previous employment. This occurred two months after his initial arrest for the offenses.
Parents of children at both nurseries were not directly informed of Parry's crimes. They discovered the details through a news report, leading to shock and upset. West Yorkshire Police confirmed that their Professional Standards Directorate is reviewing complaints concerning the original investigation.
The force stated that a new fraud investigation has been initiated into a report of fraud by false representation since Parry's sentencing. They acknowledged ongoing concerns from the community and are working to update parents where possible.
