A nurse has been struck off the nursing register for serious professional misconduct. Johanna Phillips was found to have fabricated medical letters, purporting to be from a doctor who had since passed away, in an attempt to secure a school placement for a child.
During the investigation, Phillips also reportedly threatened a member of the school staff who had flagged her suspicious actions. The Nursing and Midwifery Council's fitness to practise committee determined that her behaviour was dishonest and that she had failed to demonstrate accountability or genuine regret.
The disciplinary panel concluded that Phillips's conduct severely undermined public confidence in the nursing profession and raised critical concerns about her ethical standards and overall professionalism. She is no longer permitted to practise as a registered nurse.
