Cannabis Factory Raid: Man Jailed in Nottingham

Gezim Celaj, 21, has been sentenced to six months imprisonment after pleading guilty to producing a Class B drug. His arrest occurred on November 10 when police raided a semi-detached house on Porchester Road in Mapperley, Nottingham. Officers observed Celaj attempting to flee within the property as they gained entry, subsequently finding 72 cannabis plants concealed in a bedroom and the loft.

This recent discovery marks the second occasion within the current year that law enforcement has successfully dismantled a drug manufacturing operation at the same location. Following the seizure of the cannabis plants and Celaj's apprehension, the property has been subjected to a six-month closure order, preventing any further access.

Authorities highlighted the significant risks associated with such illicit operations, including attracting further criminal activity and the dangers of electrical abstraction for cultivation. The successful prosecution and closure of the property were viewed as crucial steps in preventing its future use as a drug den and curbing associated anti-social behavior.
