On October 9th, 2025, two unidentified youths opened fire on a salesman at a liquor shop near Sankhu Fatak in Rajgarh town. The attack was part of a wider conspiracy by notorious gangster Kapil Pandit, also known as Kapil Pandit, to spread fear among liquor contractors and extort a share of their business.
Pandit, a hardened criminal from Rajgarh with a long history of serious offenses, is a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Sampat Nehra gang. He is currently jailed in Bhiwani, Haryana, in connection with another criminal case. However, from behind bars, Pandit orchestrated the Rajgarh shooting through his associates to demand a share in the local liquor trade.
Investigators revealed that Pandit used a fellow inmate, Vikas, alias Popat, to coordinate the attack. The Churu police have now brought Pandit from Bhiwani jail on a production warrant to interrogate him further. Pandit is also one of the accused in the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala and earlier confessed to conspiring with Bishnoi's gang to assassinate Bollywood actor Salman Khan in 2021.
