Summary
- 29-year-old Golu Lihitkar detained under MPDA Act on Sept 25, 2025
- Known for crimes like murder, extortion, assault, and rioting
- Continued criminal spree despite preventive measures and detentions

On September 25, 2025, the Nagpur Police have detained a 29-year-old criminal named Golu Lihitkar under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (MPDA) Act. Lihitkar, also known as Ashwin, has been a menace in the Raghuji Nagar area, terrorizing the Sakkardara neighborhood with a long rap sheet of serious crimes.
Despite preventive measures taken in 2020, a 2-year externment order, and previous detentions under the MPDA Act in 2016 and 2023, Lihitkar continued his criminal spree, violating a bond imposed in 2024. His recent acts of extortion and grievous assault prompted the Senior Police Inspector of Sakkardara to propose his detention to the authorities.
The Crime Branch's MPDA unit has now secured a detention order for Lihitkar, and he has been lodged in the Nagpur Central Jail, awaiting transfer to the Yerwada Central Prison in Pune. This move aims to curb the threat he poses to the public at large.
