Biggie's Son Countersues Music Producer for Defamation

In a dramatic turn of events, C.J. Wallace, the son of legendary rapper The Notorious B.I.G., has filed a countersuit for defamation against a Florida music producer and publicist. The lawsuit comes after the producer, Jonathan Hay, accused Wallace and an associate of bringing him to a house where Combs allegedly forced him to perform oral sex.

Hay's initial lawsuit, filed this past summer, also leveled multiple other instances of sexual misconduct claims against Combs, who has faced a barrage of civil assault lawsuits since being criminally charged last year. However, Wallace is now hitting back, calling Hay's allegations a "calculated smear campaign."

According to the countersuit, the estate decided to shelve a planned house remix project of Biggie's 1994 album "Ready to Die" after the first single flopped in 2020. Wallace alleges that Hay became "irate" at this decision and later fabricated the story about the Combs assault. The countersuit claims Hay's actions have caused Wallace to suffer "general and special damages, including loss of professional opportunities, humiliation and mental anguish."

While Hay's original lawsuit was filed anonymously, he later revealed his identity in an October YouTube video detailing the alleged assault. Wallace's defamation case focuses on this video, as legal filings are generally shielded from slander liability. Hay has also filed a police report in addition to the civil lawsuit against Combs and Wallace.
