- A five-day-old infant was found with hospital staff.

The Uttar Pradesh government has canceled the license of Navjeevan Hospital in Bisrakh and initiated steps to seal the facility. This action follows the arrest of the hospital's owner and two staff members for allegedly attempting to sell a five-day-old baby girl for ₹2.6 lakh. The investigation was prompted by a tip from a couple who received a WhatsApp message offering the newborn.
Health officials are examining crucial hospital records, including delivery registers, to verify maternal identities and detect any tampering. A committee led by the Chief Medical Officer will scrutinize documents to establish the infant's true parentage. The baby, who is undergoing medical examination, was intercepted by police during a sting operation.
The hospital owner, Yashika Garg, claims a woman named Anjali delivered the baby and could not raise her. Police are still searching for a nurse and her husband, who allegedly circulated the message about the available infant. This operation highlights a significant child trafficking attempt within the region.
