A nursing home in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, experienced a fatal shooting and subsequent suicide early Tuesday morning. Brandon Alexander, 35, fatally shot his estranged wife, Victoria Alexander, who worked as a nurse at the Excelcare facility. The violence began around 6 AM when Alexander blocked his wife's vehicle in the parking lot as she arrived for work. After leaving suicide notes on her car's dashboard, he pursued her into the building when she attempted to escape. He shot her multiple times before turning the weapon on himself. Critically wounded, Alexander was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where he later died. The Excelcare facility, a post-acute rehabilitation and nursing center, went into emergency lockdown. Residents reported hearing gunshots and screaming, with some hiding in their rooms. This event is the first homicide recorded in the area this year. The facility stated it has a strict no-weapons policy and follows response protocols for such incidents.
