- Wife Nilu Raikwar allegedly committed suicide on Oct 21

On October 29, 2025, the Kotwali police in Jhansi have booked Nishad Party district president Shiv Kumar, along with his two brothers and sister-in-law, for abetment to suicide after his wife, Nilu Raikwar, allegedly ended her life on October 21.
The case was filed based on a complaint lodged by Nilu's mother, Rekha Raikwar. In her complaint, Rekha stated that Nilu had married Shiv Kumar in December 2009, but their relationship had become strained over time, leading Nilu to live with her parents. Later, Nilu moved to rented accommodation in Friend's Colony.
In December 2024, Nilu had lodged a case of atrocity against her husband. Following this, in June 2025, the court ordered Shiv Kumar to pay a monthly stipend of Rs 2,000 to Nilu for her regular expenses. However, on October 21, Nilu went to her in-laws' house to meet her children, where she was allegedly humiliated by her husband and his relatives. Depressed by this incident, Nilu reportedly committed suicide.
