Revenge Plot Trial: Nine Accused of Murderous Attacks

Nine individuals are currently on trial, facing serious accusations related to a violent revenge plot. This alleged conspiracy was reportedly sparked by the killing of Omar Sadiq, who died on 15 September 2020.

The indictment claims that Sadiq's death, allegedly carried out by Hashim Uddin, led to the nine accused, including Omar's brother Kashif Sadiq, forming a plan.

This plan allegedly involved conspiring with others to engage in criminal conduct. Their objective was reportedly to assault, endanger the lives of, and murder Hashim Uddin, along with his relatives and associates.

The charges detail a series of attempted murder accusations, including multiple alleged petrol bomb attacks targeting different properties within Glasgow. There are also claims of deliberate attempts to kill specific individuals through knife or machete assaults.

Further allegations include covert surveillance tactics, such as placing tracking devices on vehicles to monitor movements. The conspirators are also accused of intentionally setting fire to vehicles as part of their alleged retaliatory actions.

The period covered by these serious charges spans from 15 September 2020 to 14 December 2020. The majority of the alleged incidents occurred at various addresses throughout Glasgow during this time.

All nine defendants, identified as Kashif Sadiq, Robert Daniel, David Doherty or Docherty, David McShane, William McNally, Michael Kennaway, James Blakely, Tony Robertson, and James Bennett, have denied all the accusations brought against them. The trial commenced with the reading of agreed evidence presented by both the prosecution and defence lawyers.
