In Gurgaon, Okake Friday, also known as Richard, was arrested on Saturday night in Silokhra village. He was found with approximately 13.72 grams of a substance believed to be MDMA, discovered in a backpack. The arrest was made by the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau near Ebowla Club's parking area.
Authorities were alerted by an informant who indicated Friday's involvement in illegal drug sales and his planned attendance at the club. He was taken into custody along with his motorcycle and the suspected drugs, facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
Meanwhile, a separate incident reported on Saturday involved the death of Alex Tochukwu Osuji, a 47-year-old Nigerian national. Osuji, who had been in Bhondsi jail since 2024 for a narcotics case, passed away at a government hospital. His health had reportedly declined due to pre-existing conditions, including HIV, and recent symptoms like fever and breathing difficulties.
