Radiographer Struck Off for Sexual Misconduct
19 Feb
Summary
- Radiographer made unwanted sexual advances towards two colleagues.
- He was found to have exploited a position of power.
- Colleagues reported feeling intimidated and at risk.

Christopher Gyiripah, a radiographer at Frimley Park Hospital, has been struck off the professional register following findings of gross misconduct. The Health and Care Professionals Tribunal Service (HCPTS) concluded that Mr. Gyiripah made "unwanted sexual advances" towards two colleagues, claims he had denied.
During theatre training, he allegedly asked a junior colleague about her relationship preferences and if she had a boyfriend. In a separate incident, he asked another staff member to sit on his lap and made a thigh-patting gesture, causing her discomfort. He was dismissed in April 2022 for gross misconduct.
The tribunal determined that Mr. Gyiripah exploited his position of power, which he admitted, but denied sexual motivation, stating he was friendly and maintained platonic relationships. Colleagues reported feeling intimidated and at risk, with some refusing to work shifts with him.
Allegations included looking up a colleague's Facebook profile and commenting on her appearance, asking about her room in hospital accommodation with suggestive remarks, and hugging/squeezing her bottom while stating, "I felt like touching you, so I did." He also allegedly warned her that no one would believe her if she reported him.
Another colleague reported intense, creepy staring and being asked to dance during a night shift in January 2021. The radiology general manager confirmed receiving multiple similar complaints, noting Mr. Gyiripah accused witnesses of lying and dismissed the allegations.
