A newlywed woman was allegedly murdered by her husband with a sharp weapon on Thursday night, July 24, 2026, following a domestic dispute. The victim, identified as Varsha Kachetiya, was reportedly attacked by her husband, Manish Khachetiya, at their residence near Mahaprabhuji's Bethak in Jamnagar.
The complaint was registered by Varsha's brother, Parsottam Sonagara, at the Jamnagar City 'A' Division police station. Sonagara stated that his sister had married the accused on February 13. He alleged that the accused displayed intense dislike towards Varsha shortly after the marriage and subjected her to constant harassment and quarrels over petty matters.
The fatal incident occurred around 1 am after a fight between the couple. Varsha sustained severe injuries to her head and neck, believed to be inflicted by a sharp agricultural weapon, possibly a sickle. She was rushed to GG Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival. The police are investigating the case.
