A shocking crime unfolded in Indore's Nehru Nagar area, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old woman just weeks after her wedding. Vandana Kushwah was allegedly attacked and killed by her sister-in-law, Parvati Bai Kushwah, following a heated argument. The dispute is said to have originated from a comment Vandana made regarding Parvati's brother, who is currently incarcerated in Damoh jail on a rape charge.
The fatal altercation reportedly occurred on Thursday. Parvati Bai allegedly used a kitchen knife to inflict a fatal neck wound on Vandana. The perpetrator then allegedly placed Vandana's body in an outdoor water tank before proceeding to the hospital, where her husband was undergoing treatment.
The crime came to light when Vandana's husband, Upendra, returned home after being unable to contact her. He discovered his wife's body in the tank and immediately alerted the police. Investigators apprehended Parvati Bai after reviewing CCTV footage that showed her leaving the residence. Confronted with evidence, including potential fingerprints on the knife, she confessed to the crime.
Vandana and Upendra had recently moved to a rented house in Raj Nagar after facing opposition from Vandana's family regarding their relationship. Vandana's family had reported her missing after she married Upendra on August 11, but she later informed the police that she wished to remain with her husband. Her family stated they had no contact with her since August 12.
