A newly-wed couple was discovered deceased in their Hyderabad home on Saturday, in what police are treating as a suspected suicide. The couple, Yemjala Karthik, 28, a marketing professional, and Yerramalla Manjula, 27, a homemaker, had recently married in March.
The incident came to light when Karthik's brother, residing on the second floor, found their door locked from the inside and received no response. He discovered Karthik, who had visible bodily injuries, and then found Manjula deceased on the bed. Both were pronounced dead at a local hospital.
While Karthik displayed visible injuries, Manjula had no external wounds, leading authorities to await post-mortem results for clarification on her cause of death. Police have registered a case and are investigating the trigger for the apparent suicide. Manjula's family has submitted a complaint but has not yet raised suspicions against the husband or his family, who are reportedly in shock.
