A late-night incident in Newcastle city centre led to the arrest of three individuals, including two teenagers, on suspicion of attempted murder. Emergency services were called shortly after midnight to reports of an altercation involving four people in the Blackett Street and John Dobson Street areas.
A 20-year-old man and two boys, aged 16 and 17, sustained injuries believed to be caused by a bladed article. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The arrested individuals are the 20-year-old man, a 16-year-old boy, and a separate 17-year-old boy. Police have confirmed that all parties involved were known to each other.
While cordons have been removed, there is an increased police presence in the area to offer reassurance to the public.
