- Devotees can now register complaints on-site, reducing travel to police station.
Haryana's first-ever police post was inaugurated on Sunday at the Shri Mata Mansa Devi temple complex in Panchkula, aiming to provide a secure and seamless pilgrimage experience for devotees nationwide. Inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the post is outfitted with advanced surveillance systems and a dedicated team of 20 specially trained police personnel. These officers have received training in soft skills to ensure polite and effective communication with visitors.
The integrated assistance and information center at the post will offer comprehensive guidance on temple services, including darshan queues, prasad, and langar. Visitors will also receive directions to nearby religious sites and transportation hubs. A key feature is the facility for on-site complaint registration, eliminating the need for devotees to travel to the police station for issues like missing persons or lost items. The post will also monitor over 100 CCTV cameras across the complex to swiftly address any suspicious activities or crimes.
This initiative is expected to significantly boost religious tourism by making police assistance readily available. The tourist police will also coordinate with various agencies during emergencies and crowd management. In a related development, the first day of Ashwin Navratri saw significant donations of over Rs 25 lakh across three prominent temples in the region, indicating a large influx of devotees.
