Bihar Police apprehended four individuals in Muzaffarpur on Saturday evening for their alleged involvement in selling counterfeit question papers for competitive exams, including NEET-UG. The accused operated a network that defrauded parents and candidates by offering fake exam materials through social media. Mobile phones were recovered from the arrested individuals.
The arrests followed intelligence provided by Manish Jha, who was previously taken into custody on June 2 for similar charges. During interrogation, the suspects admitted to using social media to solicit money via online transfers, which were then forwarded to Jha. The investigation into this fraudulent scheme is ongoing.
In related developments, the NEET re-examination is scheduled for June 21. Union Minister Pradhan urged students to trust the process and focus on their studies, assuring them of an organized exam. Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan has chaired multiple meetings to ensure the seamless, transparent, and secure conduct of the re-examination, emphasizing close coordination between central and state governments and warning of strict legal action against any disruption attempts.
