Initial reports from Asha and her in-laws suggested Santosh had gone to sleep normally on Sunday night and failed to wake up. However, investigators grew suspicious due to the delay in seeking medical help and not informing the police immediately. A post-mortem examination confirmed death by strangulation, officially classifying the case as a homicide.
During intense questioning, Asha confessed to the crime. She stated that her husband was an alcoholic and frequently subjected her to domestic violence. Following a dispute on Sunday night, she allegedly strangled him to death while he was heavily intoxicated. The police are further investigating if Asha had any accomplices.
