Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1 after her son-in-law dropped her off the previous evening. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated she was taken against her will. Evidence found at her home includes her phone, Apple Watch, and blood droplets confirmed to be hers. Surveillance camera footage shows the front camera was damaged around 1:47 a.m. on the night she vanished.
Images released by the FBI show a masked figure approaching Nancy's door, possibly armed. A ransom note demanding bitcoin was confirmed by police. The family has released pleas for her safe return, offering to pay the ransom. An unrelated individual was charged with sending fake ransom texts, admitting he followed media coverage.
Nancy's daughter, Savannah Guthrie, and her siblings have expressed devastation and urged for her safe return, highlighting her medical needs, including a pacemaker.
