Authorities have detained a person of interest in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie. The Pima County Sheriff's Office detained an individual for questioning on Tuesday evening. The suspect was located south of Tucson and has not been charged.
Nancy was last seen on the evening of Jan. 31, 2026, outside her Tucson home. She was declared missing the following day. A large-scale search was launched by local authorities.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos announced that her disappearance is being investigated as a crime. Savannah and her siblings have shared videos pleading for their mother's safe return, urging anyone with information to come forward.
