DNA expert CeCe Moore suggests that returning to Guthrie's Arizona home to gather additional DNA samples could yield significant progress. Moore theorizes that the development of new mixture deconvolution software has been expedited due to the high-profile nature of Nancy's case, making it a top priority. If the home yields no solid DNA, Moore suggests discovering a second crime scene would offer another chance for evidence recovery.
She noted that finding Guthrie's body, if deceased, would unfortunately provide another opportunity to collect DNA evidence. However, Moore emphasizes that returning to the known crime scene at the home is the next best step if a second crime scene isn't found soon. She stated that if the perpetrator was present for an estimated 40 to 42 minutes, it is highly probable they left DNA behind.
