Federal agents have enhanced their investigation into the abduction of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie. The reward for information leading to her location or the arrest of those involved has been doubled to $100,000.
Authorities now describe the suspect as a male, approximately five-foot-nine-inches to five-foot-ten-inches with an average build, who was observed carrying a black, 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack. This individual was seen on surveillance footage attempting to obscure a doorbell camera at Guthrie's home in Tucson, Arizona, on the night of her disappearance, February 1.
Investigators are expanding their search for security video, requesting footage from neighbors in the Catalina Foothills area from specific dates in late January. This includes the time of the abduction and periods when a suspicious vehicle was noted nearby. A single black glove, potentially matching the suspect's attire, was previously discovered by authorities during their search of the desert surrounding Guthrie's residence.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen by her eldest daughter and son-in-law on the evening of January 31 before being reported missing the following day after failing to attend a planned social engagement. The family continues to plead for public assistance in locating their mother, with Savannah Guthrie sharing heartfelt tributes.
