Nalgonda police in India have introduced a groundbreaking citizen- and victim-centric initiative designed to streamline the complaint and FIR registration process. This innovative approach aims to significantly enhance accessibility to justice for individuals, particularly those who are incapacitated.
As a testament to this new policy, Kanagal police recently traveled to Suraksha Hospital in Nalgonda. There, they met with Bolligorla Guruvayya, a resident of Madanapuram village who had sustained injuries from an assault. Since the victim was unable to come to the police station, officers recorded his statement and filed the FIR directly at his bedside.
The district superintendent of police personally intervened, instructing the Kanagal sub-inspector to act swiftly. This proactive intervention ensures that victims receive immediate attention and facilitates the legal process, regardless of their physical condition or location.
