19 Aug
Summary
- Technician brought knife, marriage items to lure colleague.
- Accused attempted suicide after stabbing colleague.
- Victim's family had filed a complaint against accused earlier.

A shocking incident unfolded in Nagpur where a railway technician, Kirankumar Atram, is accused of stabbing his colleague and friend, Shivani Gajbhiye, in a hotel room. Atram had allegedly brought a knife, along with items like a mangalsutra, sari, and sindoor, to convince Gajbhiye of his intent to marry her.
Following the attack, Atram inflicted severe self-harm in an apparent suicide attempt. He was rescued after relatives alerted authorities upon receiving a call from him and is currently in critical condition. The crime occurred in a decorated hotel room, which investigators believe was intended to lure Gajbhiye.
Sources indicate Gajbhiye desired a permanent relationship with Atram, who is married and has two children. Police are investigating the possibility that Atram planned the incident to appear as a murder-suicide, even placing the knife in the victim's hand. A police record shows Shivani's family had previously filed a complaint against Atram in 2018, which was resolved at the time.
