Summary
- A highly decomposed body of a woman was found in a locked room.
- Police suspect foul play, including potential rape and murder.
- An investigation is underway with servants, tenants, and landowner questioned.

A disturbing discovery was made in Nagpur on Sunday morning, March 9, 2026, when a highly decomposed body of a woman, estimated to be around 35 years old, was found in a locked room at a private farm in the Nara Vasti, Jaripatka area.
The body was found by a farm helper in room number four of the seven-acre farm. The farm owner was alerted, and upon inspection, the severe decomposition, including maggots, indicated the woman had likely been deceased for approximately four days, possibly around the time of Holi.
Jaripatka police were immediately notified and have begun an investigation, initially registering an accidental death report. However, senior officials suspect foul play, including potential rape and murder, due to the circumstances and the isolated nature of the farm.
Authorities are currently questioning the farm's helper, tenants, and the landowner. Efforts are also being made to identify the woman and examine any available CCTV footage and forensic evidence. The autopsy report from Mayo Hospital is expected to provide more clarity on the exact cause of death.
