An e-rickshaw driver in Nagpur has been arrested for allegedly murdering a hotel owner after a dispute over money and a deeply offensive demand. The victim, identified as Rahul Sunil Sahu, who owned a hotel named 'Happy Day', had lent money to the accused, Naveen Punjabrao Pundkar.
According to police, Naveen had repaid double the amount lent, but Rahul allegedly continued to demand an additional 35,000. The situation turned fatal when Rahul visited Naveen's residence and, during an argument, allegedly made a demand involving Naveen's daughter. Enraged, Naveen reportedly struck Rahul with an iron rod, killing him.
Naveen then allegedly concealed the body in a sack and dumped it under the Nara Ghat bridge into the Pili river. Police used the victim's call detail records to identify the suspect. Naveen has confessed to the crime, and investigations are ongoing.
