Couple Busted Supplying Women in Sex Trade Sting
10 Feb
Summary
- Police arrested a couple supplying women for sex trade.
- Two women were rescued during a sting operation on Monday.
- An intermediary named Komal is currently on the run.

In a significant bust under 'Operation Shakti,' Nagpur police apprehended a couple, Tauseef (26) and Joya Qureshi (24), for their involvement in human trafficking and supplying women for sex work. The arrests occurred at Rani Durgawati Chowk on Monday.
The operation, supervised by senior police officials, was initiated following a tip-off. Authorities used a decoy customer to catch the couple red-handed as they supplied two women, aged 24 and 26, for approximately ₹2,000 per transaction.
Further investigation revealed that Joya Qureshi, originally from Mumbai, met Tauseef through a friend and later relocated to Nagpur. She was connected to an intermediary identified as Komal, who supplied young women for trafficking. Komal, a repeat offender, is currently evading arrest.
The two rescued women were medically examined and provided safety at a government shelter home. An FIR has been filed at the Pachpaoli police station under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and other anti-trafficking laws.
