In a significant development in Nagpur, the arrest of Arjun Patle, 21, on Friday has brought all conspirators to light in the contract killing of 45-year-old Ganesh Borkar. Patle, identified as a key plotter, was apprehended in Mouda taluka.

The victim, Ganesh alias Gurudev Borkar, was brutally hacked to death on the night of July 2. He was attacked while on his way home from a nearby tea stall. Investigations quickly pointed towards his estranged wife, Manisha Borkar, 37, as the alleged mastermind.

Manisha, who had been living separately from Ganesh due to domestic disputes, reportedly hired four individuals, including two juveniles, to carry out the murder. She is alleged to have promised them Rs 2.5 lakh and paid Rs 1.75 lakh prior to the attack.

Authorities had previously arrested Manisha and Abhijit Sakhre, along with detaining the two juveniles. Patle had been evading capture until his recent arrest. The police are continuing their investigation to determine each accused's exact role.
