Ashish Kudbe, a notorious cricket bookie and criminal known as Boma, was apprehended on January 18, 2026, after being a fugitive for two months. This capture is the result of dedicated efforts by Zonal DCP Rahul Madane's special squad. Boma is facing serious charges, including an FIR filed at Sadar police station for allegedly threatening to extort Rs20 lakh from city businessman Indrakumar Agarwal.
Further investigations revealed accusations of misbehavior, molestation, and harassment against female orchestra bar singers last year under the MIDC police station's jurisdiction. Witnesses reported that Boma brandished a gun to intimidate staff and musicians while harassing a woman singer. The bookie, allegedly linked to Mumbai's betting networks, gained infamy after a viral apology video for hurling abuses while intoxicated.
