Music Mogul Sentenced to 50 Months for Abuse Charges

In a sentencing hearing on October 3, 2025, Judge Arun Subramanian addressed Sean "Diddy" Combs and handed down a 50-month prison sentence for Combs' two prostitution-related convictions. With credit for time served, Combs has 36 months left to serve, and he was also fined $500,000 and sentenced to five years of supervised release.

While acknowledging Combs' "impressive" record as a "celebrated" and "iconic" artist, the judge said the music mogul's history of "rampant sexual and physical violence" warranted a "substantial sentence" to send a message to abusers and victims alike that such abuse will be met with real accountability.

The judge rejected the defense's attempt to characterize Combs' "freak offs" -- choreographed sex parties -- as "intimate consensual experiences," stating that given the prevalence of sexual violence in society, a strong sentence was necessary. He also addressed Combs' ex-girlfriends, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura and "Jane," who testified against him, saying he was proud of them for coming forward.

In the final moments before the sentencing, Combs begged the judge for mercy, apologizing to his ex-girlfriends and calling his behavior "disgusting, shameful and sick." The judge encouraged Combs to allow his family and supporters to uplift him during this difficult time and to use his platform to do good for survivors of domestic violence.
