The court found the video's authenticity was established through forensic doctor C Sarkar's testimony. Additionally, a prosecution witness provided "last seen" evidence, reporting Haldar was observed carrying a bottle of poison prior to meeting the victim.
According to the FIR, the girl had informed her family she had consumed poison. She recounted how Haldar had called her to Sastitala, given her a bottle, and then poured the remaining poison into her mouth. The autopsy report confirmed death by poisoning and concluded that Haldar was solely responsible for the murder.
