Judge Orders 'American Idol' Victims' Suspect to State Hospital

A man accused of murdering "American Idol" music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, has been committed to a state hospital. The judge ordered Raymond Boodarian, 22, to be hospitalized after he was found mentally incompetent to stand trial.

Boodarian, arrested on July 15, faces charges including two counts of murder and residential burglary with a person present. These charges carry special circumstances, potentially leading to a death sentence. Criminal proceedings were suspended earlier when a judge expressed doubts about his mental competency due to his courtroom behavior.

The couple was found dead in their Encino home on July 14, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities believe the suspect entered the home through an unlocked door while the couple was out, leading to a violent struggle upon their return.
