Paul John Martin, aged 45, has been found guilty of second-degree murder for the 2023 slaying of Robb Memory. The conviction occurred last week in the B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster. The trial commenced in March.
Robb Memory was discovered deceased at a residence near 191 Street and 68 Avenue on August 27, 2023. Police indicated his injuries were consistent with homicide. Martin was apprehended by authorities less than a week after the incident, on September 1, 2023. He has been held in custody since his arrest.
The guilty verdict is the result of collaborative efforts between the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) and policing partners, with assistance from Crown counsel. Martin's next court date is scheduled for Thursday to arrange a sentencing hearing. The conviction carries an automatic life sentence, with parole eligibility to be determined by the trial judge.
