In Rae Bareli district, authorities have apprehended three people in connection with a recent murder. This development follows the circulation of a video purportedly recorded at the crime scene. In the video, the primary suspect, Surendra, is heard claiming that police personnel had previously advised him to kill the victim.
Surendra alleged that he had approached the police station on three separate occasions to report harassment involving his wife. According to his claims in the video, officers suggested he resolve the issue by resorting to violence. Police have refuted these assertions, stating that no personnel encouraged any form of violence.
The victim, identified as Ramakant, son of village head Ganesh Prasad, was allegedly killed by Surendra, his wife Soni, and his brother Virendra after a dispute. The confrontation reportedly began over a past relationship between Ramakant and Soni.
Senior police officials confirmed that an independent inquiry will be conducted to investigate the allegations made in the video and to verify the circumstances of its recording. Based on the inquiry's findings, appropriate action will be taken.
