School Van Driver Arrested for Groping 3 Minor Girls in Mumbai

In a disturbing incident, a 48-year-old private school van driver in Mumbai was arrested on November 18, 2025, for allegedly groping and inappropriately touching three minor schoolgirls. The incidents occurred on November 13, 2025, when the driver was picking up the girls, aged 8, 9, and 11, from a private school in Juhu.

According to the police, the driver molested the girls under the guise of helping them get into the van. One of the victims later confided in her mother, who filed a complaint with the Santacruz police on November 15, 2025. The case was then transferred to the Juhu police station, as the offense occurred within their jurisdiction.

The accused driver, who does not work for the school but operates a private vehicle that picks up students, has been booked under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and Section 8 of the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences). He was remanded to police custody after being presented in a city court.
