A shocking incident unfolded outside Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) on a Saturday evening. A 20-year-old man, Waqar Akbar Sheikh, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, caused panic by brandishing a sickle. He allegedly threatened his girlfriend and bystanders in the crowded area.
The volatile situation was brought under control thanks to the swift action of police constable Vishal Gade. Gade, who was heading to work, noticed the commotion. He approached Sheikh from behind, overpowered him, and, with assistance from a passerby, managed to disarm the suspect of the sickle.
According to police, the accused and his girlfriend had purchased the sickle at Crawford Market before heading to CSMT. An argument between the couple escalated, leading to Sheikh's aggressive display. He was subsequently arrested by the MRA Marg police and handed over to them along with the seized weapon.
