Mumbai Man Arrested for Abetting Suicide

Mumbai Police have apprehended a man accused of abetting the suicide of a woman he was friends with. The man allegedly used blackmail and threats involving obscene morphed photographs to extort money from the victim.

The victim, who had been in regular contact with the accused despite her parents' advice, faced severe mental distress. He had created and threatened to circulate her edited obscene images online. Despite paying him multiple times and police warnings, the harassment persisted, leading to her tragic death by suicide on November 15.

Following the incident, the victim's parents filed a fresh complaint. The accused has since been arrested and charged with offenses including threatening to circulate obscene photos, blackmailing, extortion, and abetment of suicide, as reported last week.
