- CCTV footage crucial in piecing together the dog's killing.
- Animal lovers and residents pushed for a thorough investigation.

A month after Mikey, a beloved community dog, was allegedly killed within the Raheja Exotica complex on Madh Island, Malvani police have arrested four individuals. The accused include housekeeping staffer Vaibhav Koli, whom residents identified as the main perpetrator. Moreshwar Patil, Santosh Kapur, and Dharmendra Gound are also in custody.
Animal rights activists and local residents, with support from actor Manjiri Fadnis, hailed the police for their diligent investigation into this animal cruelty case. Crucial evidence emerged from CCTV footage, despite claims that several cameras within the society were switched off prior to the incident on May 27. A functioning camera at an adjoining clubhouse provided vital visual records.
The footage reportedly showed security guards directing Mikey, followed by Koli allegedly bludgeoning the dog with a rod. Another accused allegedly assisted in disposing of the body in a gunny sack. Residents are now questioning why the accused security guards remain employed and who ordered the CCTV cameras to be deactivated.
