In a shocking incident, the Shivaji Nagar police in Mumbai arrested a doctor and two nurses on November 14th, 2025 for allegedly planning to sell a newborn baby boy for ₹5 lakh.
The case came to light when a 20-year-old unmarried woman delivered the baby boy at a hospital in Govandi on November 13th, 2025. The police received information that some individuals were planning to sell the newborn at the Royal Hospital in Govandi.
When the police arrived at the hospital, they found the newborn baby in a tray and a woman claiming to be a nurse named Anita Popat Sawant. During the investigation, the police also summoned Dr. Qayamuddin Khan, who admitted that they had planned to sell the baby to a woman named Darshana for ₹5 lakh.
