A violent dispute over shop space culminated in murder late on Friday night in the Gorai police station area. Rolan Miranda, 65, and his wife Lizbert, both senior citizens, have been arrested for allegedly fatally stabbing Dashrath Chavan, 37, a local shopowner.
The incident, which locals claim stemmed from frequent arguments over a shared shop space at Golden Pagoda, escalated dramatically. Witnesses reported the couple attacked Chavan with a knife, inflicting multiple deep stab wounds to his neck and chest.
Chavan was rushed to the hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries before he could be admitted. Gorai police have booked the couple for murder, and they have been remanded in police custody as investigations continue.
